How Hugging Face models are ranked

Lists refresh every 24 hours while the source and site automation are enabled. Successful snapshots publish automatically; failed or rate-limited requests retain the last good list with a stale/error notice.

GitHub Trending follows GitHub’s own list order. Most-starred means cumulative stars, not best code. Hugging Face Trending follows trendingScore; downloads are the Hub’s recent 30-day metric; likes are cumulative. New releases use repository creation dates.

Each list is bounded to the top 100 returned records (Trending may return fewer). Language pages rank the imported sample, not every repository on GitHub. Metadata is not a benchmark, endorsement, security review or license grant. No model weights or repository code are executed.

Daily metric observations are retained for up to 35 observation days. Leaving a list does not delete the detail page; its observation date exposes its age. Sponsored API rankings do not affect these source-driven lists.
